In massachusetts and probably any other state you can think of,schools absoutlutly [pardon my spelling] prohibit gum. As any student knows, chewing gum helps us concentrate. Its been proven. ;] also it helps keep our teeth clean and cravings away! Whats wrong with that?? chewing gum produces saliva which washes our teeth with a type of acid that eats up bacteria that feeds on plaque.
none of this will convince princibles because they have heard this MILLIONS of times! all they worry about is keeping the schools clean. i agree with that, but maybe if gum chewing was a privilidge, students will honor it more. thats my opinion. Ive heard and seen many different ways cities keep public places clean of gum. if you google image search ''gum disposal'' you'll find many intresting ways to keep our earth clean if your ''down to earth''. this is why we Totally should and why its OK to chew gum in school!! :D
